Metcalf Excavation, Inc. formed in 2003 and was built upon the successful business venture of brothers, Carl Metcalf II (Mike) and Travis Metcalf (Jason). Mike and Jason have lived in Colorado since 1983 and they continue to serve the community and local economy through their personal endeavors as well as through the company by specializing in year-round operations.
During the spring and summer, we specialize in maintaining Colorado State Standards for Storm Water maintenance and reclamation in the natural gas industry of Western Colorado. Our reclamation services include soil stabilization, determining climate zones, reseeding, hydro mulching, road maintenance, water shed planning, spill prevention and erosion control.
During the fall and winter, our experienced operators keep prominate roads open for rig operations and transport trucks in adverse weather conditions. We use state-of-the-art snow removal equipment to aid in the specialized services we provide. Our company provides 24-hour emergency response for pulling trucks, evacuation and road closures as needed.
Our skilled administrative staff provides support for our field crews and maintains direct liaisons with several prominent Oil and Gas Companies in the area. Mike and Jason both have upwards of 39 years combined educational and practical knowledge of excavation and storm water functions. They each hold numerous certificates for specialized training as well as memberships pertinent to remaining up-to-date with the technology associated with Storm Water Management. Additionally, we employ a General Engineer with more than 25 years experience in his profession, Project Manager’s, an on-site Safety Director and two Administrative Assistants. Metcalf Excavation, Inc. prides ourselves in having valuable relationships with specialized vendors which help us remain competitive financially.
Mike and Jason are generous financial contributors to the community. Specifically, there is a Metcalf Excavation Scholarship that gives opportunity to GVHS Seniors each year. Mike, Jason and Metcalf Excavation support the GVHS Key Club, Grand Valley Days and numerous other fund raisers including organizing an annual Block Party that raised $7,000.00 its first year for books for Parachute and Battlement Mesa Schools.
